Dedication Plaque 2011

Dedication Plaque is a response to the Brunswick Counihan Gallery exhibition theme of women in the Victorian Legislative Assembly, a tribute to the momentous contribution made by Victorian women for their service to public life. I have used the suffragette colours- white referencing public and private life, purple for dignity and self-respect and green symbolic for hope, growth and new life. The plaque is overlayed with the names and suburbs of women who have been elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament of Victoria since the centenary occasion. Their hard work makes my choices possible.
